Mong Kok - The Busy Place

We have just returned to our hotel after a gruelling day of shopping. The shopping is insane and heaps of people! I will give you a rundown:

We ended up waiting til 115am from Melbourne! It was delayed that long so we sat around for 45 minutes - it was very hard. Although we sat apart, it was good because we each had an empty seat next to us but we were very far apart. I sat with a mother and daughter - they talked a lot at first but they settled down. I slept a good amount of time so that was good. I ate their late snack which was probably a bad idea because I should have just slept.

We arrived around 7am and it took a while to work out what to do, but we found the train and it took us to downtown Hong Kong Island and then we had a free shuttle to a stop 5 minutes walk from our hotel.

We then waited for Alex (The Tan's Friend) to come show us around Mong Kok which means the busy place - and it is. He is a really nice guy and he talks a lot and is so full of great information and so helpful. He showed us some incredible stuff - places that the tourists dont go although we did run into a lot of westerners, but it is absolutely amazing, the amount of people, the incredible shopping!! You should see the amount of people here. And it isn't scary at all - most people are very friendly and will try to talk to you and most are very good at it.

We finished around midnight which is 3am Melbourne time. We made it to our room about 1230-1am. So it is 445am as I write this which is 145am our time and I really have to get to bed. I am wasted but we have another full day here tomorrow. I'm going to bed - good morning!

Welcome to HK Pete! Looks like things have just got even crazier since i was there, if possible. Don't forget to try and get up to the peak at sundown if you can - with the tripod and 'lots of film'!

Thanks for leaving by the way - as soon as you did we got 2 inches of rain! perhaps you'd better stay longer for the good of Victoria?

I was surprised to see SO MANY men hanging around Sharon after church on Sunday until i realised that you'd left! Hmmmmmmmm maybe you'd better not stay TOO long! - and besides think how many extra new pairs of shoes will be in the wardrobe by the time you return!

Blessings
Mal
